WHAT IS A COOKIE?
Cookies are small text files that are downloaded on the user’s device when visiting a website.
During every subsequent visit, cookies are sent back to the site that created them (first party cookies) or to another website that recognises them (third party cookies). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise the user’s device. They have many purposes, such as, for example, allowing an efficient browsing among the pages, remembering favourite websites and, more generally, improving the browsing. They also guarantee that online ads visualised are user-oriented and consistent with their interests. According to their purpose and to their use, they can be subdivided in technical cookies, profiling cookies and third party cookies.
On the website www.igm-online.it there are no profiling cookies and the cookies we use do not track the single user’s way of surfing the Internet and so they always respect users’ privacy.
TECHNICAL COOKIES
The use of technical cookies does not require User’s consent according to art. 122 paragraph 1 of the Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003. Among these technical cookies, we point out strictly necessary cookies. The functions they enable allow the website to be fully used. These cookies are saved on the user’s PC only during the present browsing session. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled using the Website’s functions. Technical cookies include those used to statistically analyse accesses or visits to the website, so-called “analytics”. They only have statistic purposes (no marketing or profiling purposes) and they collect aggregate information with no possibility to identify the single user.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled using the Website’s functions. In general, cookies can be completely disabled in any moment in your browser.
